Google Sued Over Online Listing Service Patents

Law360, New York (August 14, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- GraphOn Corp., a developer of computer application software, has sued Google Inc. for alleged infringement of patents that cover transaction methods on the Internet.

In a complaint filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, GraphOn alleges that several of Google's Web sites that allow users to post searchable entries, advertisements, blogs and video media infringe four patents assigned to Santa Cruz, Calif.-based GraphOn.

The patents cover methods for maintaining an automated and network-accessible database.
