Law360, New York (June 9, 2015, 10:44 AM EDT) -- Beginning July 1, 2015, most pharmacies in the U.S. will be required to have systems in place to receive transaction information regarding the prescription drugs for which they take ownership. These requirements stem from a 2013 federal law known as the Drug Supply Chain Security Act (DSCSA), enacted as one component of the Drug Quality and Security Act, which also contained new provisions related to the federal oversight of drug compounding. In addition to accepting the so-called "3T" information for each prescription drug it purchases on or after July 1 — the 3Ts referring to the transaction history, transaction statement and transaction Information for the drug — a covered pharmacy already should have systems in place today to segregate and investigate any suspect products....
