Families Of Nightclub Fire Victims Win $20M

Law360, New York (August 19, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In the latest round of settlements relating to a 2003 nightclub fire, the town of West Warwick and the state of Rhode Island have agreed to pay $20 million to resolve lawsuits filed by the families of the 100 people killed.

Documents filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Rhode Island said that the state and town each agreed to pay $10 million. The settlements still needs to win the approval of the court and the plaintiffs.
