CardioFocus Seeks 2nd Settlement In Patent Spat

Law360, New York (September 08, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- A Massachusetts maker of laser heart-treatment devices has asked for court approval of a settlement reached with one of its competitors in a suit against nine companies over patents for a laser catheter system.

Plaintiff CardioFocus Inc. and defendant Laserscope filed a joint motion to dismiss in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts Friday, stating the two companies have entered into a written settlement agreement. The settlement provides for the parties to drop all claims and counterclaims against each other.
