Study Links Bisphenol A To Diabetes, Heart Disease

Law360, New York (September 17, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A new study has linked bisphenol A, a chemical widely used in plastic products, to diabetes and heart disease in adults, amid a string of earlier studies that have connected the additive to developmental and other health problems in humans.

The report, published Wednesday in the Journal of the American Medical Association, found that higher urinary concentrations of bisphenol A were associated with an increased prevalence of cardiovascular disease, diabetes and liver-enzyme abnormalities.
