EEOC Sues Kmart, Sears Over Race Discrimination

Law360, New York (September 19, 2008, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has sued Kmart Corp. and Sears Holdings Corp. for allegedly discriminating against black employees at a store in Hollywood, Fla.

The complaint, filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, accuses Kmart managers of using racial slurs against former employee Dale Lewis and other black employees, then retaliating against those who complained.
