DOI Sued For Giving Livestock Open Range

Law360, New York (November 24, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- Citing deep-seated institutional bias at the U.S. Department of the Interior, an environmental group is suing the agency again to rescue wilderness in southwestern Idaho that has been opened up to the cattle industry.

The complaint, filed Saturday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Idaho, claims the DOI continues to violate environmental laws by allowing “excessive and ecologically destructive” livestock grazing in the Owyhee Resource Area.
