Le-Nature's Trustee Names Wachovia in RICO Suit

Law360, New York (December 02, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- The liquidation trustee for bankrupt beverage company Le-Nature’s Inc. has filed a racketeering lawsuit naming the bottler’s former CEO and Wachovia Corp., among others, as defendants, and seeks to recover some $500 million in damages.

Unsealed in late November, the complaint filed by bankruptcy trustee Marc S. Kirschner in October claims that the defendants either helped perpetrate or helped prolong a fraudulent scheme piloted by the company’s former CEO, Gregory Podlucky.
