JPML Consolidates Yamaha Rhino Litigation

Law360, New York (February 18, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- The Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation has consolidated and transferred more than 50 lawsuits brought by plaintiffs alleging they suffered injuries in accidents involving Yamaha Motor Corp. USA's Rhino off-road vehicle.

In an order Friday, the judicial panel transferred 53 such cases to the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Kentucky. Two cases, one in the Northern District of Texas and another in the Northern District of Alabama, were not transferred because they were so far along that consolidation wouldn't be efficient.
