Ex-Ropes & Gray Atty Settles SEC Fraud Suit

Law360, New York (July 08, 2010, 3:51 PM ET) -- Former Ropes & Gray LLP attorney Brien P. Santarlas has agreed to pay $32,500 to settle a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission civil fraud suit over his role in an alleged $20 million insider trading ring connected to Galleon hedge fund founder Raj Rajaratnam.

Judge Richard J. Sullivan of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York entered the final judgment July 2, signing off on a deal that the patent lawyer agreed to after pleading guilty to related criminal charges in December....
