Law360, New York (January 27, 2012, 5:15 PM ET) -- Hewlett-Packard Co. on Thursday removed to California federal court a putative class action alleging that various models of the company's lines of Slimline and Pavilion computers were deceptively marketed and sold with inadequate power supplies.
HP removed the suit from state court in Santa Clara, Calif., to the Northern District of California, saying the federal court has jurisdiction under the Class Action Fairness Act of 2005 because the size of the proposed class is more than 100 and their combined claims exceed $5 million.
