Samsung, Rambus Joust Over Destroyed E-Mails

Law360, New York (September 06, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- A discovery battle is heating up in Rambus Inc.'s memory device patent suit against Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd., which claims that production documents regarding the destruction of e-mails in another patent case would be "burdensome and wasteful."

Samsung filed an opposition in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California on Wednesday to a Rambus motion that seeks to force the South Korea-based electronics maker to turn over documents from a 2001 lawsuit brought by Mosaid Technologies Inc.
