Law360, New York (October 08, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- A federal judge has agreed to extend a temporary restraining order against RealNetworks Inc.'s new DVD-copying program, RealDVD, at the request of a slew of major movie studios, which are trying to ban the software for alleged violations of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.
U.S. District Judge Marilyn H. Patel of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California extended the TRO on Tuesday, four days after she initially granted a TRO against RealNetworks' new software.
