Deals Rumor Mill: Platinum Equity, Toshiba, Aston Martin

By Benjamin Horney (December 15, 2017, 6:57 PM EST) -- Platinum Equity LLC is nearing an acquisition of Husky Injection Molding Systems Ltd., with Reuters reporting on Friday that the private equity shop could pay nearly $4 billion for the company, which provides injection molding equipment to the plastics industry. According to the report, Platinum Equity made a more attractive offer than competing bidders, and a deal between it and Husky's owners, Berkshire Partners LLC and the private equity division of the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System, could be inked before the new year. The report also cautioned that it is possible no deal winds up getting done....
