Leaner Class Gets Conditional Cert. In Farmers OT Suit

Law360, New York (July 20, 2012, 3:57 PM ET) -- A South Carolina federal judge granted conditional certification in an overtime collective action against Farmers Insurance Exchange on Friday, a year after shooting down a broader certification bid from the plaintiffs in a ruling that called the U.S. Supreme Court's Dukes decision "illuminating."

U.S. District Judge David Norton granted former Farmers workers David MacGregor, James Cantrell and Debra Carnahan's motion for certification of a group of property claims representatives who worked under a particular branch manager in Farmers' "Atlanta zone."
