Ex-KBR Worker Gets 3 Years In Corruption Case

Law360, New York (December 09, 2010, 5:21 PM ET) -- A federal judge sentenced a former KBR Inc. supervisor in Afghanistan to more than three years in prison Thursday for taking about $200,000 in subcontractors' so-called illegal gratuities, which a judge characterized as bribes.

Judge Colleen McMahon handed down the 41-month sentence to 39-year-old Daniel Freeman in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, saying that she wanted to send a message that such behavior during times of war wouldn't be tolerated.
