Eye Laser Maker Clears Up $10.6M Case Over Botched Research

Law360, New York (April 09, 2012, 3:12 PM ET) -- Nidek Co. Ltd., a Japanese manufacturer of laser devices for vision correction, has settled a $10.6 million lawsuit accusing Ohio-based Clinical Research Consultants Inc. of botching trials needed for regulatory approval of Nidek's eye surgery equipment, the companies said Wednesday.

Terms weren’t disclosed for the settlement, which dismisses a January lawsuit over Clinical Research’s allegedly deficient handling of studies related to Nidek’s EC-5000 Excimer Laser.
