Capital City Seeks Quick Win In Kelley Drye Malpractice Case

Law360, New York (September 17, 2012, 8:00 PM ET) -- Capital City Energy Group Inc. and Kelley Drye & Warren LLP filed competing bids for summary judgment Friday in a legal malpractice suit Capital City brought against the firm over a botched merger and employment agreement.

Capital City Group Inc. brought the suit in Ohio state court in January, claiming Kelley Drye and its Chicago corporate finance partner Timothy Lavender botched the acquisition and sale of its subsidiary and fellow plaintiff Hotwell Services, and that Lavender improperly invested in Capital City Energy while representing the company....
