Applied Optical In The Clear In Fiber-Optic Suit

Law360, New York (November 23, 2009, 4:39 PM ET) -- A federal jury has found that Applied Optical Systems Inc. did not infringe a Fiber Systems International Inc. patent related to fiber-optic connectors, as antitrust counterclaims filed by Applied Optical await a separate trial.

A jury in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas ruled Thursday that Applied Optical didn't infringe U.S. Patent Number 6,305,849 C1. Judge T. John Ward previously ruled that Applied Optical didn't infringe the two other patents asserted in the case by Fiber Systems.
