Brazil Probes Alleged Ambulance Bid-Rigging Scheme

Law360, New York (November 12, 2010, 1:10 PM ET) -- Brazilian investigators have raided several businesses and homes of state health department officials tied to an alleged $2.6 million scheme to rig bids for maintenance and ambulance contracts.

Brazil's Secretariat of Economic Law and the Public Ministry of Rio de Janeiro on Wednesday oversaw the serving of seven search warrants. Investigators searched the offices of companies Toes and Scar River Muti Service, as well as the home of a former health department official and two contract servers, according to a government statement.
