EU Raids Door, Window Fittings Makers

Law360, New York (July 05, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- The European Commission has raided a group of door and window fittings manufacturers across Europe, over concerns that the companies have participated in an anti-competitive cartel.

The unannounced raids in several member states on Tuesday and Wednesday were the Commission's first step in its probe of the suspected cartel, the EC said.

“The Commission has reason to believe that the companies may have violated Article 81 of the EC treaty,” it said.
