Ohio Official Seeks To Overturn Corruption Conviction

Law360, New York (May 02, 2012, 3:20 PM ET) -- Cleveland area official Jimmy Dimora, who is awaiting sentencing on government kickback crimes, sought a new trial and a judgment of acquittal Tuesday, saying the verdict was against the weight of evidence.

In motions filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, the former Cuyahoga County commissioner continued his protracted legal fight which includes a bid last month to be released on house arrest pending sentencing.
