Major Music Cos. Renew Dismissal Push

Law360, New York (October 16, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- Several major record companies and their corporate parents responded with new filings on Monday to efforts by a putative class to collect damages for alleged price-fixing in the Internet and CD music markets.

All of the defendants and three corporate parents filed memorandums of law in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.

The filings were in response to a memorandum the plaintiffs filed in September rebutting the defendants' motions to dismiss. The filings sought to buttress the defendants' preexisting motions to...
