Spitzer Finishing Up Talks In Bid-Rigging Suit

Law360, New York (March 13, 2006, 12:00 AM ET) -- New York State Attorney General Eliot Spitzer is apparently close to wrapping up discussions with U.S. and foreign insurers and brokers who have come under scrutiny during a two-year fraud and bid-rigging investigation.

The purported settlement talks stem from the attorney general’s October 2004 civil suit against Marsh & McLennan Cos. in which incidents of bid-rigging and pervasive price fixing on behalf of large insurance brokerages were investigated.
