EFCA: Card Is More Important Than Person

Law360, New York (June 15, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- Unions recently have accelerated their push to promote the misnamed Employee Free Choice Act to a favorable vote on the Senate floor, including holding candlelight vigils in states where key senators remain noncommittal on voting for cloture.

Unions in general, and the SEIU in particular, pumped almost $100 million dollars into the coffers of candidates who favor EFCA, looking for an immediate return on their investment in the form of EFCA becoming enacted. What's at stake here?
