Solis Pledges OSHA Enforcement, EFCA Support

Law360, New York (September 14, 2009, 4:03 PM ET) -- The U.S. Department of Labor is “back in the enforcement business” and is hiring 670 investigators to police worker rights, Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis said Monday at an AFL-CIO convention, where she also reiterated the Obama administration's support of the Employee Free Choice Act.

Solis pledged beefed-up worker safety enforcement and EFCA support at the AFL-CIO constitutional convention in Pittsburgh, in the first address from a labor secretary to an AFL-CIO convention since the Clinton administration.
