Law360, Washington (February 22, 2012, 4:10 PM ET) -- The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission will ramp up its enforcement of systemic discrimination next month, after approving a strategic four-year plan Wednesday designed to maximize agency resources.
The commission voted 4-1 to approve the plan, which indicates the EEOC will be filing even more systemic bias cases. Such cases have already been on the upswing in recent years, and companies may face a higher number of investigations and suits based on employment patterns and practices instead of individual cases under the plan.
