Law360, New York (January 25, 2006, 12:00 AM ET) -- As the deadline for compromise draws near, Delta Airlines and the pilots union are still at each other’s throats over the carrier’s bankruptcy reemergence plan, making arbitration seem like an increasingly likely option.
Delta is pushing for a permanent cost-cutting deal with pilots worth $325 million a year, substantially higher than the terms in a tentative agreement reached last month. The new pact touched off a showdown in bankruptcy court, when Delta asked to cancel the Air Line Pilot Association's contract and impose the concessions....
