Law360, New York (April 21, 2015, 11:58 AM EDT) -- In March 2014, President Obama instructed the secretary of the U.S. Department of Labor to review and issue new rules on overtime exemptions under the Fair Labor Standards Act. Last month, President Obama again said his administration would soon be issuing guidelines reforming the national overtime rules, following up on that promise.[1] The current regulations were last updated in 2004, but the president called for the DOL to revise the white collar exemptions, including increasing the overtime salary basis requirement from its current threshold of $23,660 per year so more workers would be eligible for overtime pay when they work more than 40 hours per week....
