E-Discovery In The Months Ahead

Law360, New York (March 04, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- The first few months of 2009 have seen a deepening economic crisis that is impacting the way that cases are litigated, especially with respect to e-discovery.

Even in the best of times, e-discovery is expensive, with anecdotal reports estimating that e-discovery costs may be as much as 30 percent to 40 percent of the litigation budget.

Today, litigants face greater pressures to reduce these costs, and we expect cost-cutting measures to drive the trends in the months ahead from both technological and legal perspectives.
