New Bill Would Ban 'Pre-Existing Condition' Denials

Law360, New York (March 19, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- Reflecting a recurring message that President Obama made on the campaign trail, U.S. Sen. John D. Rockefeller IV, D-W.Va., has proposed legislation that would eliminate pre-existing condition exclusions for all health insurance policies.

On Monday, Sen. Rockefeller introduced S. 623, or The Pre-existing Condition Patient Protection Act, which "would end insurance discrimination against those who live with pre-existing or chronic illness."
