BP Amoco Targeted For FCRA Violations

Law360, New York (July 23, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- A subsidiary of BP plc has been hit with a proposed class action that accuses it of putting its customers at risk of identity theft by failing to block out credit card information on sales receipts.

The complaint, filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, claimed that gas station operator BP Amoco Corp. violated the Fair Credit Reporting Act by printing entire credit card numbers and expiration dates on receipts.
