$20M PG&E Fine Over Pipeline Violations Stands

Law360, New York (April 19, 2012, 6:18 PM ET) -- The California Public Utilities Commission on Thursday upheld nearly $20 million in fines against Pacific Gas & Electric Co. over its failure to conduct gas safety tests and its lack of compliance with a public records search surrounding pipeline system components.

PG&E was hit with a $16.76 million citation for not conducting gas leak detection surveys in seven cities in Contra Costa County, with some missed surveys going back as far as 1993 for certain facilities.
