Law360, New York (June 22, 2012, 3:27 PM ET) -- The U.S. Department of the Interior said Friday it would extend the public comment period for a proposed rule to regulate hydraulic fracturing on public lands, following a chorus of criticism from industry and environmental groups alike.
The comment period was slated to run until mid-July, but Interior Department spokesman Adam Fetcher said the agency would leave it open for another 60 days to allow for more input.
