Law360, New York (September 24, 2012, 4:42 PM ET) -- Qatar's state-owned petroleum developer will plunk down a substantial investment in a $3.7 billion Egyptian oil refinery project, energy officials announced at a weekend press conference, marking a key step toward jump-starting the project.
The officials — Qatari Minister of Energy and Industry Mohammed bin Saleh al-Sada and Egypt's Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Osama Kamal — did not give an exact buy-in figure, according to various media outlets, but earlier reports have pegged Qatar's investment around $400 million.
