Law360, New York (July 12, 2006, 12:00 AM ET) -- Less than a week after the death of Enron Corp.’s convicted founder Kenneth L. Lay, federal prosecutors are forging ahead in their case against Jeffrey K. Skilling, arguing that there is ample evidence to prove the fallen former chief executive’s guilt.
Skilling’s attorneys argued in court documents last month that the evidence presented at trial was insufficient to sustain a conviction.
“In short, the evidence presented at trial was legally insufficient as to every element of every count in dispute,” said Skilling’s attorneys in court documents....
