Law360, New York (December 08, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- The U.S. Energy Information Administration’s annual report has concluded that a combination of environmental and economic factors caused a historic spike in total greenhouse gas emissions and carbon dioxide emissions in 2007.
The 16th annual report — released Wednesday by the EIA, the independent analytical agency within the Department of Energy — found that 2007 greenhouse gas emissions increased 1.4 percent from the previous year's total and attributed the historic jump primarily to increases in carbon dioxide.
