NRG Unit Accused Of CAA Violations

Law360, New York (February 19, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- Federal regulators have launched a suit against Louisiana Generating LLC over Clean Air Act violations, alleging the NRG Energy Inc. subsidiary runs a coal-fired power plant that operates in defiance of required pollution controls.

The complaint, lodged Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana, claims Louisiana Generating upgraded the Big Cajun II power plant without notifying regulators and installing technology to limit the harmful emissions, as mandated by the CAA.
