Clean Energy Bill Boosts Renewables, Cuts Emissions: Report

Law360, New York (May 02, 2012, 7:37 PM ET) -- A top Democrat's bill to set a national clean energy standard would drive up energy generation from renewable, nuclear and natural gas sources and bring about double-digit decreases in utility emissions, according to a government analysis released Wednesday.

The Clean Energy Standard Act of 2012, or BCES12, would provide a significant boost to wind, solar, biomass, natural gas and nuclear power, while pushing down coal generation and reducing electricity sector carbon dioxide pollution by 20 percent in the first decade, according to the U.S. Energy Information...
