Defendants To Pay $29M In Mass. Superfund Cleanup

Law360, New York (December 09, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- Bank of America NA, ConocoPhillips Co., Chevron Environmental Management Co. and several other companies have agreed to pay $29 million to clean up a former Massachusetts landfill contaminated with chemical and radioactive waste.

Fourteen defendants have agreed to perform the remainder of the cleanup at the former Shpack landfill, a Superfund site in the towns of Norton and Attleboro, Mass., the U.S. Department of Justice and Environmental Protection Agency said.
