Judge Dismisses Duplicate Katrina Suit

Law360, New York (October 18, 2007, 12:00 AM ET) -- A federal judge in New Orleans has dismissed a suit accusing several insurance companies, including Allstate Insurance Co. and State Farm Fire and Casualty Co., of defrauding the U.S. government following Hurricane Katrina.

Judge Peter Beer of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana granted the defendants' motion to dismiss on Wednesday.
