Judge Shields DLA Piper Docs In Lockheed Securities Row

Law360, New York (September 18, 2012, 8:44 PM ET) -- Plaintiffs in a class action accusing Lockheed Martin Corp. of inflating investor expectations about its information systems business can't gain access to interview materials of confidential witnesses conducted by Lockheed defense counsel DLA Piper, a New York federal judge ruled on Tuesday.

In an order Tuesday, U.S. District Judge Jed Rakoff expressed doubt that attorney-client privilege shielded the interviews of the witnesses, but agreed to keep most of the documents confidential because of the work product doctrine.
