Law360, New York (June 12, 2012, 8:47 PM ET) -- The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services said Monday that it would be accepting a new round of applications from accountable care organizations to participate in the agency's shared savings program — a key provision of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act — in 2013.
CMS said that it would begin accepting applications for the third round of the pilot program starting Aug. 1. Prospective applicants must file notices of intent to apply by June 29, and applications are due Sept. 19.
