Wyeth Wins Philly Fen-Phen Case

Law360, New York (October 10, 2008, 12:00 AM ET) -- A Philadelphia jury has ruled in favor of Wyeth Pharmaceuticals Inc. in a wrongful death suit over the diet drug Pondimin, which spurred thousands of lawsuits after Wyeth yanked it off the shelves amid claims that it causes heart disease.

After a trial before Judge Gary S. Glazer in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas, a jury unanimously ruled in Wyeth's favor, the company said on Friday.
