Law360, New York (May 07, 2012, 4:20 PM ET) -- The European Union on Monday said Brazil had "much to lose" if it followed its neighbors' recent protectionist behavior, adding that the EU planned to respond to Argentina's recent move to nationalize a portion of the country's largest energy company.
In a speech on the trade relationship between the EU and Brazil, Trade Commissioner Karel De Gucht criticized the recent trend toward protectionist by Latin American countries, saying that Brazil's leaders needed to speak out against protectionist moves.
