Law360, New York (May 08, 2009, 12:00 AM ET) -- Toy retailer Toys R Us Inc. recently outbid a number of others to purchase the domain name toys.com for $5.1 million, reportedly the highest price paid for a domain in 2009.[1]
The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers, the organization that oversees Internet-related functions, plans to start accepting applications for an unlimited range of new generic top-level domains, such as .toys, starting as early as December 2009.
