Clean Energy Patents Reach New High In Q2: Report

Law360, New York (August 21, 2009, 1:44 PM ET) -- The number of U.S. patents granted in the clean energy sector has reached a new quarterly high, with fuel cell, wind and solar patents particularly on the upswing, according to a report by intellectual property firm Heslin Rothenberg Farley & Mesiti PC.

Albany, N.Y.-based Heslin Rothenberg announced the results of its Clean Energy Patent Growth Index on Thursday, finding that 274 patents were granted in the second quarter of 2009, up from 243 in the first quarter and 261 in the fourth quarter of 2008....
