USPTO Drops Controversial Rules Package

Law360, New York (October 08, 2009, 7:05 PM ET) -- The fiercely contested rules proposed by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office under the Bush administration that sought to impose new restrictions on patent applicants and became the subject of a drawn-out court battle in Tafas v. Doll have been rescinded, the USPTO said Thursday.
