Law360, New York (January 04, 2010, 3:11 PM ET) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission has launched an investigation into whether Sharp Corp. has infringed three patents covering liquid crystal display technology, following a complaint filed by rival electronics maker Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd.
The ITC said Wednesday that the probe will focus on whether Sharp and its U.S. affiliates violated Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 by importing LCD panels, modules, televisions, monitors and other products that allegedly infringe U.S. Patent Numbers 5,844,533; 6,888,585; and 7,436,479.
