NetVeda Dropped From IPAT Data Security Patent Spat

Law360, New York (March 02, 2010, 12:53 PM ET) -- A federal judge on Tuesday released NetVeda LLC from Information Protection and Authentication of Texas LLC's suit accusing nearly two dozen companies of infringing two patents related to computer security software systems.

Judge David Folsom of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas granted IPAT's motion to dismiss the networking company from the litigation, recognizing that the defendant had not retained counsel nor answered the plaintiff's complaint.

Each party will bear its own attorneys' fees and court costs, according to the order....
